How to Prepare your Confidential Resumé

Your Résumé is a summary of your background qualifications, experience, achievements and interests. The way this information is presented will affect the way a prospective employer will see you. Put thought, care and time into making up your Confidential Résumé.


PERSONAL DETAILS:
A printed Header Page is provided onto which you can enter the information most Employers would want to know about you.

PROFILE:
Give a brief outline of your career, highlighting your main achievements (3-6 sentences)

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
In this Section, provide details of your academic background and educational standard achieved. Starting from your highest educational attainment, list Education Establishments attended, and Degrees and /or Certificates gained. Enclose copies of Educational and Professional Certificates.

REGISTRATION:    (if relevant)
Along with what registration you hold, also advise whether you have New Zealand registration or if you are applying for it.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Starting with your most recent employer; list your employers, the dates you started and finished working for them, and the type of job.

REFERENCES:
Please provide a minimum of three references along with their contact details (telephone, facsimile, & e-mail)
 
KEY SKILLS:
Highlight your strengths — eg. good communicator, etc.

ANY OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION
for example:
SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS:
Highlight any prizes or scholarships you have won, special Honours or recognition afforded you, high examination results, membership of teams, and papers published
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
if you have any hobbies, interests, or Professional Affiliations which you think are relevant, provide details here.

A GOOD RESUMÉ AS WELL-ORGANISED, NEAT AND EASY TO READ, INTERESTING, AND CONCISE. DON’T CLUTTER YOUR RESUMÉ WITH IRRELEVANT INFORMATION.
